About My New Series; “ZOUMITU WONDERLAND”
This year I began to make my new series; “ZOUMITU WONDERLAND”. It is difficult to explain “ZOUMITU” in words. “ZOUMITU” is like a prototype of primitive Buddhism of ancient times in Buddhist language. In other words, “ZOUMITU” can be said as a piece of faith. If you feel compassion for kittens in the forest and, further, find something in them in your heart, I think that the kittens, little birds flying in the sky, and small fish in the stream become “ZOUMITU” for you. Because I live in the forest, “ZOUMITU” exists abundantly around me. So it is my next work to incorporate them into paintings.
Tokyo based artist Ken Wada creates bold, abstract drawings that combine traditions of ink painting and calligraphy with automatic drawing. While the artist invokes historic Eastern tradition, his mark making is entirely contemporary—his quick, broken lines, stippled dots, and springing swirls are layered obsessively to lend a sense of chaos to his compositions. Painted in stark monochrome, Wada’s works feel simultaneously spontaneous and tightly controlled.
Where is the Soul of the Trees? No.83 | India Ink on Paper is part of the Tripping the Light Fantastic exhibition; on view at the gallery until January 18th.
Tripping the Light Fantastic A Holiday Exhibition is on view at the gallery. The exhibition features a variety of works, and for every work of art purchased, 10% of the proceeds will be donated to The Children’s Heart Foundation. The show opened to the public Thursday, December 7th, 2017, with an opening reception that evening from 6-8pm, and will run through Thursday, January 18th, 2018.

No matter where I go all over the world, a pigeon is my closest friend.
I think a pigeon is an animal that can notice the sorrow in the human heart. I really think so, not a joke.
Thank you so much for watching my Image Poems.
