La Galerie de Ken Wada 2

東京都練馬区において2025年3月10日から始まったピアニスト瀬尾真喜子さんの6回のホームコンサートは大好評の中、2025年4月3日に無事に終了いたしました。
ピアニストの瀬尾さんをはじめスタッフの皆様、3作品を展示してくださり、本当にありがとうございました。
少し体調を崩していまして、ご報告が大変遅くなり、申し訳ありませんでした。

2025年3月10日(月)から2025年4月3日(木)までの間、素晴らしいピアニストである瀬尾真喜子さんからお声をかけていただき、東京都練馬区における6回のホームコンサートに、僕の作品が使われることになりました。
僕も以前一度ご自宅に妻とお邪魔させていただきましたが、おいしいスイーツや紅茶までご準備された本当に素敵な温かいホームコンサートです。

瀬尾さんが僕の3作品を前にして、即興演奏をしてくださいます。
ホームコンサートのお知らせが始まり、すぐに完売状態になりましたが、追加公演の3月23日(日)には、まだ若干のお席の余裕があるようですので、詳しくは瀬尾さんの以下のサイトをご覧ください。

展示される僕の3作品は、
「Untitled 2022 No.12」
「Untitled 2025 No.3」
「Untitled 2025 No.4」
で、3作品とも未発表、今回が初めての展示となります。

眼を悪くして以来、遠ざかっていた展覧会ですが、今回、瀬尾さんに引きずり出され (笑)、また国内での展示は本当に久しぶりになりますので、それでは皆様、どうぞよろしくお願いいたします。

皆様、こんにちは。



この度、イタリアの Effetto Arte Foundation が主催する「インターナショナル・プライズ・ベラスケス＆ゴヤ」を受賞しました。


僕の作品が、二人のキュレーター Salvatore Russo と Francesco Saverio Russo によって、この賞に選出されました。



建築家アントニ・ガウディが設計したバルセロナのカサ・ミラ (Casa Milà) で、2024年10月26日に受賞セレモニーが開催されましたが、現在、親の在宅介護をしていますので、式典に出席することなどは、まったく考えられませんでした。

そのかわりに、フランス時代の2007年に妻とバルセロナ旅行をして、カサ・ミラやサクラダ・ファミリアをはじめとするガウディの建築や、ムンジュイックの丘の上にあるカタルーニャ美術館やミロ美術館、長年の念願だったピカソ美術館を訪れた時のことなどを、大変懐かしく思い出しました。

また僕は、それに先立つ2002年の5月から8月にかけての丸三ヶ月間をスペイン国内で、主にマドリードで生活していましたので、その時にプラド美術館で観たゴヤの特に「1808年5月2日、マドリード」と「1808年5月3日、マドリード」の連作、また「黒い絵」の連作に強い衝撃を受けました。



ベラスケスの方は、同じくプラド美術館で、数多くの有名な作品があるのですが、やっぱりなんと言っても「ラス・メニーナス」でしょうか。

それから、スペインで生活している中で、スペイン人にとってはベラスケスこそが、我々のNo.1の画家だと強く認識しているということを、はっきりと実感する機会が何度かありました。


マドリードのソフィア王妃芸術センターで観たピカソの「ゲルニカ」の衝撃、トレドまで出かけて集中的に観たグレコも忘れられません。

あれから、もう22年も経ったのですね。
それはあくまで過ぎ去ってみればということですが、それにしても、あっという間でした。

受賞セレモニーの翌日には、バルセロナの欧州近代美術館で、受賞作品のビデオ展覧会が行われ、眼を悪くして以来、遠ざかっていた展覧会ですが、とても自然な形でまたすることができました。

これからも静かに描き続けていきます。

It is my pleasure to inform you that I was awarded the International Prize Velázquez & Goya by the Effetto Arte Foundation in Italy.

My artwork was curated by Salvatore Russo & Francesco Saverio Russo for this award.



The awards ceremony, which I was unfortunately unable to attend, was held on October 26, 2024 at Casa Milà designed by architect Antoni Gaudí in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain.

All the artworks selected for the Prize were showed through Video Exhibition on October 27, 2024 at MEAM, European Museum of Modern Art, Barcelona.

この度、イタリアの Effetto Arte Foundation が主催する「第2回インターナショナル・プライズ・ボッティチェッリ」を受賞しました。
僕の作品が、二人のキュレーター Salvatore Russo と Francesco Saverio Russo によって、この賞に選出されました。
家族の在宅介護をしていますので、フィレンツェの由緒ある宮殿パラッツオ・ボルゲーゼ (Borghese Palace) で、2024年1月20日に開催された受賞セレモニーには行けませんでしたが、そのかわり？に2016年11月にボローニャで行われた展覧会の際に、フィレンツェまで足を伸ばして、この中世の偉大な街を初めて訪れた時のことを、大変懐かしく思い出しました。
サンタ・マリア・ノヴェッラ駅に朝着いた後、まずは予約していた安宿をうろうろ探して重い荷物をおろし、「よ〜し、今日はたっぷり観てやるぞ！」とばかりに、まずはサンタ・マリア・デル・フィオーレ大聖堂を訪れ強い衝撃を受け、ドゥオーモ内のドメニコ・ディ・ミケリーノの『ダンテ「神曲」の詩人』に感銘し、フィレンツェに来て「神曲」もまだ読んでいないのでは、さすがにこれはまずいなと思い、次いで、ウフィツィ美術館でイタリア・ルネサンス絵画を浴びるほど観て、ボッティチェッリの「プリマヴェーラ」にまたもや強い衝撃を受け、結局、午後中かけて全作品を観て、最後はフラフラ？になり、アルノ川に架かるヴェッキオ橋にたどり着いた頃には、もう日がすっかり暮れてと・・・、要はありきたりのコースを一人で歩きながら、晩秋のフィレンツェを巡ったのでした。
帰国して早速、ダンテのまずは「新生」を読み始め、続いて、平川祐󠄀弘氏訳の河出書房新社版で、「神曲」を読んだのでした。
え〜と、確か先に「新生」を読んでおかないと、「神曲」を読んでも、ベアトリーチェが理解できないと思ったのでした。
なんで、こんな細かいことをいろいろ覚えているかと言うと、これはかなりわかりやすい理由で、日記をつけているからです。
その日記も今年で26年目になりました。
ちなみに、毎日つけている簡単な家計簿も今年で26年目になりました。
さらには、毎朝続けているお経も今年で25年目になりました。
そして、その分、僕は確実に年を取りました(笑)。
しかし、なんだかんだと、これまでいつもイタリアとは縁があるな、とても不思議ですね、それではまた、チャオ！

Ken WADA

Ken Wada, an artist whose work is evocative of the lyrical abstraction movement, channels a sense of emotive spontaneity through his bold and colorful compositions. His paintings, characterized by their rich, vibrant blocks of color, create a visual language that is both simple in form and profound in its potential to evoke emotional resonance.

Wada’s artistic style is distinctive for its utilization of geometric abstraction. Each canvas is a mosaic of color, with squares and rectangles of varying sizes and hues juxtaposed against one another.
